We're honored to have Tremain Archer Hatch join us for our July Producer Showcase on Friday, the 11th from 4-7pm.
Hatch, of Zephaniah Farm Vineyard, started his consulting business, Tremain Hatch Viticulture, in 2022, which provides guidance to independent vineyards and wineries in Northern Virginia. He brings to his consulting practice years of industry and innovative academic research experience. Hatch spent 17 years working on a team with Virginia Tech’s Dr. Tony Wolf, and served as Viticulture Research and Extension Associate at Tech from 2010 to 2022. Within this role, he generated and delivered progressive research to area grape growers and was responsible for developing programs and outreach for grape farmers across Virginia’s growing wine industry.
In 2010, Hatch completed an MSc in Horticulture at Virginia Tech and in 2017, an MBA from Shenandoah University. He has taken vineyard and winery practicums in Italy (2006), New Zealand (2009), and Virginia (2007 & 2010). Hatch is a third-generation farmer and has helped transition his family’s farm from dairy production to direct-to-consumer sales of pastured beef/lamb, honey, and wine at Zephaniah Farm Vineyard near Leesburg, VA.
Hatch was nominated and named “Grape Grower of the Year” by the Virginia Vineyards Association in 2024.
