As the haze of summer begins to lift and the crisp evenings of fall descend, wine growers around the world keep a watchful eye on their precious jewel-toned fruit...waiting for the perfect time to commence harvest.
It can be a mad dash to edge out Mother Nature's autumnal moods, but also a thrilling relief to have made it successfully to the end of another growing season.
With the changing of the seasons, comes a change in the food that we serve. We long for the comfort of a warm hearth and rich, nourishing meals. Naturally, our wine selections follow suit. Grenache (also known as Garnacha in Spain) is the perfect season-bridging pour. Known for bright red fruit flavors and alluring spice, you can find stylistic iterations that are quite full-bodied and earthy, and also those that live on the gentler side - both in body and tannin structure. All of which add up to Grenache being an incredibly versatile fall food accompaniment.
We'll be celebrating that versatility throughout the month of September as we welcome fall through the lense of Grenache/Garnacha. Each week we'll have a different wine that well-represents this varietal in various terroir around the world.
As always, our Community Try-Before-You-Buy Tastings are from 4-7pm on Friday evenings and are free. Grab a friend and come join us as we're Dreaming of Fall!
