Producer Showcase: Calyptra Vineyards & Winery

We are honored to welcome José Zarhi to SML Fine Wines on Friday, August 29th for our August Producer Showcase.

Zarhi, Managing Director, of Calyptra Vineyards and Winery earned his Business Degree in the University of Texas at Austin. After living in the United States for 15 years and working for a major US corporation, he moved back to his home country in 2012 to manage his family's visionary project that was started by his father in 1991. Ever since he took over Calyptra, the ethos of producing fine wines that show the purity and identity of the Alto Cachapoal Valley terroir has been his commitment. Under José's leadership, the vineyard successfully completed the 2016 plantation project, introduced modern irrigation technologies, and expanded its cultivated areas. José’s management has brought nice dividends, growing the company’s reach to now 18 countries in addition to developing a strong distribution structure for the Chilean market, where though competitive, Calyptra has made a prominent name for itself.
